An H hood would not come close to fitting on an M, so that is not your problem. As the others said, it's a bit of a chore to get a good fit on the hood. Make sure you have the radiator adjusted correctly at the top. Measure the distance from the gas tank to the seating point on the grill piece. then adjust the radiator brace that is at the top so the distance is correct. You may even have to loosen the radiator hoses and the retainer bolts at the bottom to adjust each side back and forth to the correct distance. But as others said, take a look at some other tractors and you will see that few of them have a perfect fit and those that do, you can be sure someone spent a lot of time and effort getting that fit.
