John, Usually the reason gasoline engines diesel after you shut them off is because of carbon buildup in the combustion chamber. What happens is that the carbon gets so hot it glows and when you shut off the tractor the carbon keeps igniting the fuel. This usually happens before the piston gets to top dead center causing the engine to run backwards after shutting it off. I have a Super H that is bad for that as I don't pull it hard to burn out the carbon. I now just automatically shut off the engine and let out the clutch with the tractor in gear to kill the engine before it has a chance to run backwords (bad part of running backwards is it spews oil out the air cleaner). You might try some carbon removal additives in the gasoline. Roger
