in the same boat (yes. it's a pun) here. my grandparents both died withing six months of each other two years ago. the only thing saving the family at all is the fact that the farm is in trust. we have recently decided that since we cant dissolve the trust legally we will simply auction off the equipment and personal effects and hold onto the land for lease while putting the funds into savings. the trust only states that we have to keep the assets, it doesnt say anything about liquidating and holding cash for later distribution.
