Kelly, You got me beat. I wouldn't dare hurt our swallows. They're great. No bug problems here. Plus, when you're out on a tractor stirring up bugs, these guys put on an air show that's hard to beat. Rolls, loops, Cuban 8's, hammerhead stalls, I even saw one do a full Immelmann once. Great buddies, even if they always hit the tractors and never hit the floor; like your pigeons. When I was a kid we had pigeons in the barn. We got a cheap .22 and used .22 shot rounds instead of normal bullets. It kills the rifling in the barrel, but at 10 to 15 yards it will do in a pigeon. Never did much damage to the barn, either. I used to get a nickel for every pigeon. I made something close to 2 bucks one summer in pigeon bounty, and they seemed to stay away after that. I don't think that round has nearly enough velocity or shot inside to put anyone within 50 yards in serious jeopardy. Plus, it doesn't make enough noise to get even close neighbors upset.
