300U hydraulics question

When I move the hydraulic lever to have the 3 point move down from the up position, the 3 point moves down and then goes right back up without me touching the lever. If I move it back down, it goes right back up to the highest position. If I jiggle the lever, it will finally let the 3 point be in the down position. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Is it likely to get worse? Thanks in advance.
