We had a 1468 on our farm back in the 70's and it sadly was the last farmall my grandfather bought. He bought a JD 4630, and on the same day, same field, same plow, the 4630 would plow a gear higher, and one MPH faster. The difference is in the engine design. Gas, or Diesel, you can't beat the torque of an inline motor vs. a V-design. If you remember, the ford 300" inline 6 had more torque than the 302" V-8. Now, lets talk about a Cummins-equipped Dodge, vs. a Chevy Duramax, or a Ford Powerstroke. In stock trim, the ford and chevy have more hp and tq, but when you start adding fuel, look out!! The cummins gains torque so much easier/quicker than the V-8's it isn't even funny...
