The A and C have the same engine. My C took 6 quarts of oil. I would start by putting in oil until it comes out the lower petcock. Close it and add until it comes out of the upper one. Close that and then run the engine. That will fill the filter. Shut off the engine. Let it sit a couple of minutes to let the oil drain down. As long as oil comes out of the lower petcock you are ok. If you have a partial container of oil you could fill it back up to the level of the upper petcock. As long as you get oil out of the lower one you will be ok. 30W non-detergent would be appropriate for the engine. Be prepared for some new leaks. My C looked ok until I filled the rear-end/transmission to normal levels. I had to replace just about every seal to stem the flow of oil. Good luck.
