If it starts and runs you are correct there is NO ADVANCING OF THE TIMING ON A MAGNETO AS THE C USES T he mag will advance to 34deg when it runs and you cant change it because that is the way it is. So if it starts and runs you are in correct registration. There is some marks on the flywheel one is marked TDC the other one is to check if the advance system in the mag is working and it is marked also as the flywheel cannot be put on wrong unless the dowell pin is removed. If your tractor starts and runs with the mag leave it alone as it is correct. Now then you can put a dist on and then you could play with the timing but they also will show a 34deg advance when running at full 1800 or so RPM. Any more questions e-mail me as i read thes problems every day and it is a ball what some people come up with. Come over and see any of my 11 old FARMALLS and i will show you how to make them run. glad to help anytime gene b
