Well, its been told to me that in order to change the rear main bearing ya gotta drop the crank, that is you cant just pull the rear main bearing cage off of the rear end of the crank. It says so in my I & T manual (when I got past looking for what I thought shpould be the obvious, that you COULD just pull the rear main out of the back) and a fella here said it also. If thats gospel, then im throwin my cards in and puttiong her back together. I cant move the crankshaft with the flywheel, and the bearing looks good from what I can see. It only pounds a bit at certain times, not continusiouly. Im unemployed and cant afford to go through the crank front and back, much less hauling it to the shop to do it. How much pounding is the limit. I use it to plow, disc 10 acres, pull a bailer over 5, and any haevy hauling. Will I hurt the crank if I out her back together and go until Im working again? Considering what I said about the condition of the bearing as I can see it? Im Sorry to have dragged alot of u machanics this far just to back out, but like the man said, a gotta know when to foldem, know when to run

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
