Mike: Actually your tractor was one of the tractors I was thinking about when I said start much better than when they were new. I have seen them when less than 2 years old and -10 C there was only one way to start them. That was hook unto them with a large enough tractor to tow them in high gear with the clutch out until they warmed up enough to start fireing. I kid you not that was the only they would start. A neighbor of mine bought two of them one nice July day. By Nov. he was saying he was glad he didn't trade the Super C as he definately needed it for his pup start. I'll tell you IH had one wack of enraged customers that had been used to old gas Farmalls where you went to the unheated shed at -30F and the old Farmall gave about three grunts about 5 seconds apart when starter was engaged and on the third one it fired up. Truly amazing those old gas Farmalls at -30 F you had to time it right so you let off the starter at just the right fraction of a second thus giving voltage to the ignition. It was just that that crucial.

Don't worry about the glow plugs and ether, just be sure you let off the glow plugs before the ether hits the cylinder.
