The little Cub engine is really simple to repair, assuming there isn't anything major wrong. If you are a pretty savvy mechanic, you can do it yourself. I overhauled mine (59 Lo-Boy) after getting the engine "unstuck" (it was froze-up) and the parts from my local tractor supplier came to $144.74.Then discovered that the starter was bad...another $83.00 to get it re-built, but all in all, not too costly and she runs fine. If you order the complete piston and ring kit, plus all the gaskets from Yesterday's tractors On-Line store, it will cost you about $239.00 plus $63.00 for the gasket set,but I'm betting your pistons are O.K.,so only rings, bearings ,seals and gaskets would get you by. If you decide to do this, FIRST..buy a good manual..it'll cost you $20.00 but it will be the best $20.00 you ever spent. Lots of luck, they are a great little machine! Jim
