I have used an impact wrench for this before but you may have to pull the radiator off. It usually gets the bolt off before the engine can spin much, especially when in gear and the brakes locked. The down side is the posibility of breaking the bolt but usually when I get to this point I am out of options. On a GM 350 diesel, I had to replace the valve that shuts off antifreeze to the heater, I couldn't use a wrench, crowfoot was opening up so I decided to cut off the valve so I could get a socket on what was left, tried by hand , no luck so took the impact wrench and had it off a few seconds later. I have gotten things off with the impact wrench that I tried by hand with cheeter bars with no luck.
