If you already have the brake cover off an are looking at the band take some WD40 or blaster an spray in behind the band onto the shaft. Let it sit for awhile then tape the brake lining assemb le around where the shaft goes into the the housing. Give it a pretty good lick or two both on the bottom and top of the assembly. This should free it up a little, then use a punch or rolling pry bar an see if you can get it to move. If it starts to move make sure you move the band out at the same time. Once you get the complete assembly off clean off the part that holds the band together which is on either side of the pin/shaft. After cleaning you will see a small pin on either side of the pin/shaft assenbly, drive these out an clean them along with the brake band itself. I put a very little grease on the inside of the brake band where the pin is when assembling, just enought to make sure it stays free of rust for a few days :o) I have some pictures of the brake band assembly apart under 43 H on my epson page listed below, hope this helps or if you have any questions please feel free to email me.
