Jim, unfortunately it is quite hard to add a factory IH 3-point hitch to a 240, much less even finding one. I highly doubt 3-points from any other model interchange. However, it is not hopeless. There are two things you can do. 1- Find a 240 parts tractor with a Fast-Hitch, add it to your tractor (probably as hard and expensive as adding a 3-point), and add the Fast-Hitch-to-3-point adaptors. 2- Do like I did, I have a 240 Row-Crop, but this should work for the Utility, too- get an aftermarket 3-point for Farmall C, Super C, 200, and 230 that clamps to the rear axle housings. The difference is that those tractors have a rockshaft under the gas tank that is usually used to lift the aftermarket 3-point, the 240 does not have it. You will need to build your own lift. I pinned a hydraulic cylinder to an implement mounting bracket bolted to the clutch housing and ran a heavy cable from the cylinder to the hitch. There are several companies that make these aftermarket 3-points, like Worksaver, Saginaw, and I belive mine is a Cross. Look around on the internet some, I belive Worksaver and Saginaw have websites. Many farm equipment dealerships deal Worksaver equipment. I'll see if the sticker w/ a phone number is still on my hitch and post back.

A copse of wildbreaking silver birch and oak trees surround the top si
