When disking if your disk is leaving a crown in center behind you back disks are too deep. Also if you see your front disks throwing big chunks that back disks don't catch they are too deep. Its something you just have to play with bit. Good idea to ocasionally get someone to drive the tractor and just walk along side and behind. A well set wheel controled disk should in theory leave field flat except for the cut by the outside rear disk blade.

If you use every piece of tillage equipment as a leveling device, starting with the plow you will be able to drive any modern day auto at 40 mph and any tractor in high gear in fields and not break an egg in the tool box.
