H upper bolster pivot shaft

I just recieved a aftermarket upper bolster pivot shaft. I installed everything as removed but as I tighten sector gear castle nut the gear draws up tight to casting under the gear. disassembled and reinstalled old shaft and as I tighten gear it still has a few thousands clearance from casting. I then got both shafts on the bench and measured and they appear identical. Got me stumped! Has anyone used one of these aftermarket shafts? Or any suggestions?
