Could the quality be better, you'd have to see them side by side. I can't comment one way or another on that. It is my personal opinion living about an hour away from Bates (that at least in the last 5 years) their prices have gone through the roof. If I can get it elsewhere, I do. They wanted $75 a piece for used frame rails for my 300, and said they wouldn't take them off until I got there (their ads used to say that parts were on the shelf awaiting shipment or pick-up, I don't know anymore if they say that or not) Valu-Bil(t) sent me sandblasted ones for $40/ea + freight which wasn't that much. It's your money, therefore your choice. AG
