ha ha... good one, Hugh, I don't use it either on the three tractors I have with old style cast valve seats. I believe the argument regarding valve seat reversion, but figure a lot of other things might do in a tractor engine before that will. A major factor is to keep the valves cool (even if they're not high revving or high compression, they can get hot; and "micro welding" from heat causes the problem), so running just a tad rich is a lot easier way to accomplish a cure.
