H transmission play

Hey everyone:
I guess I got bit by this tractor bug I bought a 1940 H started to restore it and found the 4&5th slider gear wore out and the pilot bearing gone.
then I bought a parts tractor a 49 and tore into it for the parts that I needed bearings look good gears look good but noticed a little play still in the main shaft can anyone tell me what is acceptable? and if none where might this play be comming from?
