I'm not sure if they are the same or not but I've got a B and it's had the same thing happen a few times. Just pull the top cover and get all the syncros in neutral and be sure the shift forks are in neutral also. Then carefully put the cover back on. It's really pretty easy. I think the shifter is just worn out and getting stuck.
