I've got a '68 1-ton Ford with a 390 and the same setup, except that I've got Black Cat headers, 2 1/2" stainless front-to-back, and I did put in dual Flowmasters to keep the Noise Gestapo off my behind. Still, it's got that nice mellow bellow that's enough to wake up half the neigborhood if I put my foot in the carb.
