I'm a 35 year old lawyer for a large corporation from Arvada, Colorado. "Rescued" my grandfather's 47 B from where he lived, and I grew up, in Stanhope, IA. My uncle still lives there and has a lot of red machines (some gray, too, but no green). Between buying a trailer to haul the B to Colorado and doing a complete engine rebuild (found a block in a salvage yard in greeley, co. may be another there if someone's looking), I know I have probably 4 times what it's worth into it. But that's not why we do this is it? I get choked up every time I work on it thinking about growing up on the farm and my grandfather. I'm about 4 hours from giving her a try on the rebuild, but a new house and baby have prevented me from getting there. Hopefully my son can learn to drive on the B just like I did. I live in town, so I plan to use the B to annoy my neighbors in my covenant controlled development (the B stays in the garage).
