I'm over here from the N board too!
I just got a Farmall "C" a few weeks ago, so I don't know much yet...but.....when you take the distributor cap off, there is a bakalite (sp?) or plastic plate that fits over the points and condensor etc, that I assume is to keep them clean and dry.
It just lifts up and out after you take your rotor button off.........course this is a distributor and not a mag.
If you have a TCS store near you, stop and look at the tune up kit for a Farmall.
