Thanks for your comments guys... Hugh - I'm sure you understand my "dark side" comment was strictly tongue in cheek! I enjoy the green tractors and their proud owners just as much as I do the red (and recently MM prairie gold...). I happened to grow up around Farmall Supers, hence that's my preference now. (Incidentally the farm where I help part-time is 100% Deere. They operate a fleet of 15+ tractors ranging from 3020's to 8300's and 8960's...all of my non-show tractoring is with JD green equipment.) Jimmy - Yup - nothing matches the sound of a 2 cylinder pulling hard! And the music of a half dozen R's, along several 80's, 820's, etc all idling together is beyond description... OLDREDIRON - I agree...that 6030 was truly humbling...what a piece of machinery! Unfortunately judging from the quality of the restoration (it's flawless!) likely the hardest work it will ever again see is climbing on and off a trailer at tractor shows. ...Bob M
