I would agree with that size truck, you probably won't have a problem -- but, what causes the transmission to overheat, in addition to the load, is a lot of shifting, either in and out of OD, or in and out of lockup, while in OD. Get a transmission temp gauge, then you can select the gear that keeps the trans below 200 degrees, at least most of the time. It is the oil temperature that ruins transmissions. I assume your truck has an external transmission oil cooler, the one in the radiator is not good enough, regardless of what your dealer tells you.
