51 years young. 24 years at City Utilities’ Southwest Power Station. Was supervisor of training and special projects for 20 years. Then move to the maintenance side as Coordinator for the new Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). SWPS is an electrical generating station in Springfield, MO (born and raised). I use my Ford 3000 w/730 loader (Fords seem to be in the minority here) on 5 acres that I will build my retirement home on starting this spring. Mow, haul, general ground maintenance. Love tractor riding. Feels strange to be one of the few with only one tractor, but I guess the important thing is, at least I have one. Simple, easy to work on, and fun. Brings back memories of doing the same with a car when younger. Not any more. I wonder if that’s why, …we can’t get our “mechanical fix” with our pickups or cars any more, so we have a tractor(s).
