Scotty just take a deep breath and relax. Your approch to removing this pully is very interesting and might just work. It is unconventional to say the least. The screw shaft on your puller is stuck in the pully. The crankshaft has a flat smooth end that the pully snugs down to. The center of the pully is hollow to accept the end of the hand crank. I am not sure how you would use a bottle jack in this operation, don't think it would work. A split bearing puller fits behind the pully and then using a two jaw puller, pulling on the split bearing puller you should be able to pull the pully off. I have always had to use heat from and act. torch (sometimes quite a lot) to heat the pully to get it off. Most if not all two jaw pullers have a point on the end of the screw shaft instead of the flat swivel head on your bar type puller. My suggestion to get your puller out of the pully would be to screw it back out the reverse way that it went end. When doing this the bar that the bolts go thru would be down tight on the face of the pully. GOOD LUCK

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
