Ther could be a couple reasons for dying out at idle speed. The obvious of course is that your idle is set too low and can be adjusted with the idle adjustment screw on the carb next to the governor shaft. The next possibility is a little more subtle. Check and see if low idle causes some vibration which in turn causes your chock to work itself out thereby killing the engine. You can check that easily by pushing your choke in all the way and if that corrects the problem, then you either have to replace the little ball bearing behind the choke lever on the carb, or hook up a spring to keep the choke from working itself out. The other possibility is that the float in your carb isnt closing properly and letting the fuel level get too high in the carb, thus flooding out at idle speed. this is very common, as you use up the fuel at higher rpms, but dont at idle. If you have dripping fuel underneath the carb, that will signal that your carb is loading up, and you will need to adjust your float. Since it runs OK otherwise, I would start with those 3 scenerios before making any adjustments anywhere else. If you do have to rebuild the carb, the kits are around $25.00, and pretty easy to work on yourself. Good Luck.
