I would definitely suggest an HVLP. I have 2 conventional guns and now 2 HVLP. The HVLP are the only ones I use anymore and give me the best results. It is like anything else, the more you use it the better the results. Don't try to get all the paint on the first time. Start out painting hard to reach areas with several lighter coats, then go to the bigger areas. I really enjoy painting now. By the way, I use a Sharpe Platinum HVLP gun with a 1.4 tip.
