John, I have never had an instance of that box ever vibrating as such, but, I will say that it is possible at just the right engine speed and load to get the hasp to rattle a little. Dad used to put a stick through the hasp to keep it from rattling. That tractor and I are the same age, (both 1946 models). I drove it ever since I was able to reach the pedals. As a kid, I put on many hours with a two row cultivator. Toolbox has always been on that tractor. Usually always full of tools and junk. To the best of my knowledge it has never been off the tractor, obviously has never caused the PTO shield to stress crack. I have driven it many hours with a sickle bar mower, PTO in operation, had no affect on causing the box to vibrate. Now as to if the lid would hit a hydraulic coupler, well, I don`t have an answer for you. It might, depending on the mounting of the coupler, you`d have to try it and see.
