A? Engine 3 7/16 OD Sleece, 3 1/8 piston

I have a pieced together A and the overhaul was going well until I slipped the new sleeves in. They are loose on the lower position, no o ring will compensate. Engine has no serial number visable on the engine. Could this be a super C engine? Casting has 354898 then an R2 then
a 3 7 Z towards the center, slightly forward. The sleeved I took out are (were) very heavy.
