My father was a IH dealer when the white grills came out on the new IH tractors in the late 50's. It wasn't a update on the IH tractors nor was it
anything IH had dealers do. We repainted our resale tractors with the white grill because it seemed like the thing to do. It probably is like when IH changed in 1937 from gray to red, many of the gray tractors were painted red.
