The engine prefix for the C123 in the Super A-1 is FCM, for the C113 in the Super A it is FAAM, The C123 will have a water pump. However if he indeed has a kerosene/distillate Super A-1, it will also have a water pump. To confuse the issue, both the C113 in the C and the C123 in the Super C have the engine prefix FCM. Of course they both fit the Super A, in case the engine has been changed. Among other differences, the I believe the Super A-1 has space between the Hyd reservoir and the gas tank, on the A the gas tank sits almost on the hyd reservoir. I was not aware of the 2 or 3 beginning digit in the engine serial number, but the chassis serial hit 300000 in 1950, long before the C123 was used. I always thought the engine serial closely matched the chassis serial.
