Hugh, I'll measure it and get the exact O.D. and I.D. on Wednesday (on the road today and tomorrow). And yep, it's steel. I'm guessing it's some type of washer, but from what? From what I can tell, I was the first person to open the chassis plate since the crew in Rock Island put it on 62 years ago. The oil was probably original too. Surprisingly, the teeth on all the gears show little if any wear. Built to last.
