I went and checked an old set I pulled out of a C113 and all but one are 5 1/4". One was 6 1/2". They were sitting in the same pile, no guarantee the long one was from that set though. Of the standard ones, the lower coarse thread section is about 3/4" long and the fine thread is about 1" long. The head I have access to at the moment is a later (230/240) style head but FWIW it's only 3 3/4" thick, so those studs should be fine. Are your new studs threaded deeper on the coarse end by chance? Maybe you are threading them deeper into the block than the original ones would go?
