If the engine has been overhauled and all the crud in the oil pan has been cleaned out and the oil pump screen has been thoroughly cleaned, then there is no reason not to use detergent oil. After all, detergent oil keeps your engine much cleaner than non-detergent because all particles remain in suspension. As far as multigrade, it's a crap shoot. In 95+ degree weather, I run 20W-50 in my F20. In winter I run straight 30. I don't think it makes much difference as long as your engine is getting good lubrication and your oil pressure stays up. There are 50 million points of view on this, but this is what I do and have never had a problem.
