Steve, I went through this same exercise last year about this time. I hauled an H from Indiana to Georgia (~550 miles) with a 14' tandem (#6000GVW - no brakes) trailer that was 6.5ft wide with a Chevy 1/2 ton truck. The tricks were to put the tractor on the trailer with part of the tires hanging off, the turn it kitty-corner. Chain it down REALLY tight, and should be ok. I was doing 70mph on flat, 45mph downhill(go slower because of NO brakes) and 40mph uphill (the Smokie Mtns). If you need the tractor to be narrower, slide the wheels in Max(I didn't have the tools at the time) and it should go to about 5'9" before turning it. H's weight comes from wheel weights, anti-freeze, fluid in the tires, hyraulic fluid, transmission fluid, attached cultivator, etc. Plan on 4000lbs.
