If yours is a 48 does the generator still have the cutout on top of it or is there a reg mounted below. If you have a regulator check underneath it and they will usually say which ground and also the voltage the reg needs to function. Take off the cover and see how many coils the reg-cutout has. if only one coil you have a cutout and the 6v pos ground will probably work after polarizing it by just touching a wire from the batt lead to the A terminal of the gen. Let us know and we can go from there.
