Wes: After seeing the total numbers you guys have quoted for the 340, my guess is a diesel will be quite rare. In that era diesels were priced substancially higher that the gassers. I guess a lot hasn't changed. I bought a new 560D and the price was well worth it on the larger tractors. Those 6 cylinder gas engines were quite heavy drinkers. I'm thinking in the power range of a 340, plus the price of fuel back then, probably not many people laid out the extra dollars for a diesel in the 35 hp range. Just my reasoning.
