Both tractors are approximately equal; the 464 has some minor updates vs. the 454. The most obvious difference is that the 464 has a single PTO shaft while the 454 has both a 540 and 1000 rpm shaft. These tractors were assembled in both England (a "B" in the serial #) and the US (a "U" in the serial #) from various parts manufactured worldwide. Most chassis parts were from the UK, the diesel engine from Germany and the gas engine from the US. A very well built utility. They are rated at about 40 hp for both the gas and diesel motor. The diesel is very strong and economical, but relies on an ether injector to start in cold weather. Has very good hydraullics. Is equipped with hydraullic brakes. They are very good, but more complicated to fix than mechanical brakes. The worst thing about mine is the parking brake - just never seems to work right; I'd prefer an old-style handle. Has the fuel tank behind the seat. With all those hydraullic and fuel lines, splitting the thing is a pain.
