John: The advise you are getting from Bill and KB only way to go. I tinkered with one 25 years ago for a bit and then installed the kit. I don't remember it being that many dollars back then. I guess time changes everything. My tractor had about 6,000 hours when it gave trouble. My main reason for posting here is Eldon's responce. His clutch and TA are out of adjustment. A lot of people allow this to continue. In my opinion some of the wear in the shift linkage can be atributed to hard shifting created by poor clutch and TA adjustment. Clutch and TA adjustment on these should be checked regularly and adjusted to the letter, and by the book. CLOSE DOES NOT COUNT. Tractors with loaders will also have a lot more shift linkage wear than tractors that have seen nothing but drawbar work.
