My Super M/MTA 472 p. parts book confirms, on p. 453, Cris's report. If the E is truly an E it should be repeated on the engine number. Mine includes a D for a 5,000-ft high-altitude attachment. See left side of the block. If the E is not repeated the E could be an F which would mean the tractor had a "cotton picker mounting attachment."
