Given the hours and for it to come on suddenly like that it is most likely the injector pump (unless he ran it out of oil). I don't know that much about adding turbos (need a REAL mechanic for that kind of advice) but some people on this site have posts about adding turbos to 560's so adding one to a 826 (using a 1206 set up) shouldn't be that difficult.
