My F-20 has begun to drip some oil from the rear wheel hub area onto the wheel rim, making a mess. I removed the wheel to determine the source of the leak. I understand that there's a 6" felt washer behind the hub/axle end that keeps the oil in the bull gear housing. To replace the felt, since the old one is probably shot, it seems that I just need to remove the cover plate over the inner end of the axle and remove a retaining nut, then pull the axle out of the housing from the wheel side. Then the felt can be replaced. Has anyone out there tackled this job before?
