I'm a stickler for correct oil in tractors, especially the newer ones. But when it comes to small engines, I recommend to my customers to use what they have on hand. I would sooner see them change the oil regularily than wait to long (or not at all) just because they don't have the right oil on hand. An engine will last much longer being changed often with the wrong oil, than not often enough with the right oil.
