My 53 super A has a problem. The left hydraulic lift (the one attached to the rear lift bar) works fine as long as the motor is running. While the motor is running though you can hear a grind/bumping sound about every 3 seconds(the same noise it makes when the lift is in operation). However the problem is that when the engine is OFF, it loses all compression and i can move the rear lift bar up and down freely with my hand. The left one touch control moves up and down as i am moving the bar with my hand as well when the engine is off. The right hydraulic lift which is attached to my sickle bar mower is fine though. It works well when running and when the engine is off, it holds the mower up with no apparent loss of compression. With all that said: what does it sound like the problem is, and roughly how big a job is it to fix? Please help with expert input! ^Thanks! pat
