Guy Fay's Letter Series book (also includes standards, you should get one) says the IH McCormick is centered between the rear of the hood and beginning of the curve in the crease near the front of the hood. It is placed 1/2 inch above the crease. The Standard is centered below the IH McCormick 1/2 inch below the crease. The WD6 is 1/2 inch from the curve in the crease, both in front and below the crease.
