I found the switch behind the clutch, it was unplugged and didn't look like it had been plugged into anything in years the two tongs on the switch were rusted. I saw a few loose wires dangling. It looked like one of the orange wires had been spliced together. A couple other wires went to the back of the tractor... By the way, there is a big black lever down below the dash in the center (near my legs). I can either raise it up or push it down. I think it has something to do with parking, but don't know if it matters if its up or down. I thought I came close today to getting it started. I saw a spark down near the starter somewhere and breifly heard the starter engage for a split second. Not sure what I did differently to cause it. I checked the solinoid and there didn't appear to be any loose or frayed or crossed wires. I just put in new battery cables today too. I even tried crossing the solinoid with a screwdriver, I saw lots of sparks, but nothing else happened. Its a mystery to me. Thanks again for your help.
