If you still have the original gen have it checked out then get the correct reg for that generator and 6v battery. There is no reason for going to 12 on a farmall A. 6V is more than enough just clean all connections and use good cables 1ga are what you need. Use pos ground what are the DELCO numbers on the back of your generator? The last three determine which regulator you will need unless your original cutout is good.
