HAROLD - Those recommendations are all controlled by the Tire & Rim Manufacturer's Association and are what the Engineers design the tires to dimensionally. Firestone, Titan (used to be Armstrong), Michelin (used to be BFG), Good Year, ALL design to make work best for different conditions. I used to BUY tires at The FARMALL Plant in the late 70's & early 80's. The Good Year Sales Mgr. told Me the Good Year Dyna-Torque Long Bar/Short Bar tire was developed to eliminate the cab shake or shudder the Sound-Gard Cab had on the 4030/4230/4430/4630 tractors. I NEVER Liked those tires once I found that out.
